Bladder leaks are common. But you don’t have to just live with them.
Maybe it happens when you sneeze, cough, laugh, run, jump or work out. Or maybe you suddenly have to go and don’t always make it to the bathroom in time.
Changes in pelvic floor function can happen after pregnancy and childbirth, with aging, during hormonal changes, or seemingly out of nowhere.
At Gold Ivy, we start by understanding your symptoms and what may be contributing to them, then develop a personalized plan that may include pelvic floor strengthening and other treatment options.
You may want to talk with us if you experience:
• Leaking with coughing
• sneezing or exercise
• urinary urgency
• difficulty holding your bladder
• pelvic floor weakness
• postpartum bladder changes
Your pelvic floor does a lot more than you probably realize.
Pregnancy, childbirth, hormonal changes and aging can all affect the muscles that support your bladder, uterus and pelvic organs.
Some women notice leaking. Others describe heaviness, decreased strength or simply feeling like things aren't quite the same after having a baby.
Gold Ivy offers personalized pelvic wellness assessments and treatment options designed to support pelvic floor function based on your individual symptoms.
You may want to talk with us if you notice:
•Pelvic floor weakness
• Bladder leakage
• Postpartum changes
• Decreased pelvic strength
• Changes in pelvic function
Painful or uncomfortable sex deserves a conversation.
If intimacy has become uncomfortable, you're not being dramatic and you don't have to be embarrassed to bring it up.
Discomfort with sex can have many possible contributors, including vaginal dryness, hormonal changes, pelvic floor dysfunction and changes to vaginal tissue.
That's why we don't believe in jumping straight to one treatment.
We'll talk about what's changed, evaluate what may be contributing and discuss options based on your body, your symptoms and your goals.
Come talk to us about:
• Pain with penetration
• Burning or irritation
• Vaginal dryness
• Pelvic discomfort
• Changes during perimenopause or menopause
• Postpartum changes
Dryness, burning or irritation can affect a lot more than your vagina.
Vaginal tissue can change with fluctuating or declining estrogen, particularly during perimenopause and menopause. Some women notice dryness. Others experience burning, irritation, discomfort with sex or changes they can't quite explain.
And sometimes the answer isn't simply “use more lubricant.”
At Gold Ivy, we can look at the bigger picture, including vaginal health, hormones, symptoms and pelvic health, and discuss options that may include hormonal and nonhormonal approaches depending on your needs.
You may want to see us for:
• Vaginal dryness
• Burning
• Irritation
• Discomfort with intimacy
• Changes during perimenopause or menopause
You had a baby. That doesn't mean you're required to accept every change that came with it.
Pregnancy and childbirth can change the pelvic floor, bladder function, vaginal tissue and intimacy.
Maybe you're leaking when you exercise. Maybe your pelvic floor feels weaker. Maybe intimacy feels different. Or maybe you can't even describe it beyond:
“I just don't feel the same down there.”
That's enough reason to have the conversation.
We'll listen to what's changed and help determine which options make sense for you.
Postpartum concerns we can discuss:
•Bladder leakage
• Pelvic floor weakness
• Vaginal changes
• Discomfort with intimacy
• Changes in sensation or function
Your hormones aren't the only thing that can change during menopause.
Changes in estrogen can affect vaginal and urinary tissues too. Some women begin experiencing vaginal dryness, burning, discomfort during sex, urinary symptoms or changes in intimacy that they never experienced before.
These symptoms deserve to be addressed as part of your whole menopause picture, not treated as an embarrassing side note.
At Gold Ivy, we're able to look at both sides of the conversation: hormonal health + intimate/pelvic health.
Depending on your symptoms, your personalized plan may include hormone therapy, local vaginal therapies, pelvic health treatments or other options.
Talk to us about:
•Vaginal dryness
• Discomfort with sex
• Urinary changes
• Pelvic floor changes
• Libido concerns
• Other perimenopause and menopause symptoms
